Confident educators nurture confident learners—and that belief is the seed from which The Gro Academy grew. Born from a classroom’s heart and deep expertise, our story began in La Crosse and now centers on growing educators who help every child bloom.

🌱 Our Roots

In 2013, educator and mentor Sherry Picha and her daughter, Savanna Tonne, planted the seed of Sprout Early Learning Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. It was a nurturing space where educators flourished, just as children did. This laid the groundwork for something bigger—a vision where educator development would be at the core.

From Sprout’s caring classrooms grew The Gro Academy: a learning sanctuary where aspiring and seasoned educators strengthen their practice, gain confidence, and root themselves in child-centered approaches.
