
Planting with Purpose
Children engage in planting as they scoop soil, place seeds, and water their plants. Through this hands-on experience, they begin to understand how plants grow and how people use them for food, cooking, and daily life.
Materials
Small pots or cups
Soil
Seeds or small starter plants (herbs or vegetables work well)
Small scoops or spoons
Water
Instructions
Provide each child with a small container and soil.
Invite children to scoop and add soil to their container.
Help children place seeds or a small plant into the soil.
Guide children to gently cover the seeds and water the soil.
Talk about how people grow plants for food, cooking, or other uses.
