Paper Plate Bat Craft

In this hands-on craft activity, children build their own bat using a paper plate and simple materials. As they assemble and decorate their bat, they experiment with design and explore how adding elements like string or sticks can create movement. This activity supports creativity, fine motor skills, and early problem-solving.

Materials

  • Paper plate

  • Paint or crayons

  • Bat wings and facial features (printable or cutouts)

  • Scissors (child-safe)

  • Glue

  • String (optional)

  • Craft stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. Help children color or paint one side of the plate.

  2. Cut out bat wings and facial features.

  3. Glue wings and features onto the plate.

  4. Add string or a craft stick if desired for movement.

  5. Invite children to play with or display their bat.
