Mystery Bag Explorers
Every mystery begins with a moment of wonder. Children use their senses to investigate hidden objects tucked inside a mystery bag, describing what they notice, sharing ideas with their classmates, and making thoughtful predictions before revealing each object together. Along the way, they discover that careful observation, curiosity, and conversation are just as valuable as finding the answer.
Instructions
Place one familiar object inside the mystery bag without showing it to the children.
Invite one child at a time to gently explore the object using only their sense of touch.
Encourage children to describe what they notice by talking about the object's size, shape, texture, or other characteristics before naming it.
Invite classmates to share their observations, questions, and predictions before revealing the object together.
Continue exploring new objects, celebrating careful observation, thoughtful questions, and different ideas throughout the activity.

6–10 familiar classroom objects
