Mail's Journey
This imaginative dramatic play activity invites children to explore how letters travel from one person to another through a series of connected community steps. As they sequence, act out, and retell the journey, children strengthen executive function, oral language, and their understanding of how communities work together.
Instructions
Show children a letter and ask, "How does this get to someone's house?"
Introduce the picture cards and work together to place the steps in order.
Invite children to become the community by acting out each role—writing a letter, mailing it, sorting it, delivering it, and receiving it.
Repeat the journey, encouraging children to describe what happens before and after each step.
Finish by drawing or talking about one part of the journey they remember.

Mail carrier bag or basket
