
Float Boat Challenge
This hands-on STEM challenge encourages children to build floating boats, test their ideas, and compare results through playful experimentation. As children redesign and improve their creations, they develop early engineering, math, and scientific reasoning skills.
Instructions
Invite children to build a simple boat using available materials.
Predict whether the boat will float and how much it can hold.
Test the boat in water.
Add counters one at a time until the boat sinks.
Compare results and redesign if desired.
