Clean-Up Crew Play

Children gather and sort a mix of natural materials and classroom items, placing them into a shared basket or designated spaces. This activity builds early responsibility skills while helping children understand how their actions contribute to caring for their environment and shared spaces.

Materials

  • Child-sized brooms or cloths

  • Baskets or bins

  • Natural or classroom materials to collect

Instructions

  1. Invite children to notice materials around the space.

  2. Model how to pick up, wipe, or place items into bins.

  3. Encourage children to participate in cleaning a designated area.

  4. Sort collected items into appropriate places.

  5. Reflect on how the space changed after cleaning.
